Biography

Marcel De Sutter has been an external doctoral candidate with the Entrepreneurship Research Group at the University of Hohenheim since 2024. He studied European Business & Psychology as well as Cognitive Science with a focus on Computational Neuroscience and Machine Learning, and also earned a second master’s degree in Financial Engineering. After completing his studies, he worked at the Data & AI Lab Aftersales at Mercedes-Benz AG, first as a data scientist and later as a data product owner. At the same time, he founded an AI company that develops agent-based software solutions for automating knowledge-intensive business processes.

His research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and innovation. His research focuses on how current advances in artificial intelligence are transforming entrepreneurial decision-making processes, business models, and innovation processes. In addition, he investigates the success factors for the sustainable implementation of AI technologies in companies, as well as their impact on startup ecosystems and entrepreneurial activity.
