Biography

Dr. Sebastian Hinderer has been a research associate at the Entrepreneurship Research Group of the University of Hohenheim since 2020. As a startup facilitator, he is responsible for the program of the Start-up BW Accelerator FoodBrycke, which is funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg and supports innovative food startups. He has previously accompanied numerous initiatives in their first entrepreneurial steps of idea generation and validation as part of the Academic Seed Accelerator Program (ASAP) of the Start-up BW campaign and in the EU-funded Erasmus+ project "Fostering Entrepreneurship for the Bioeconomy" (FOEBE).

His research focuses on sustainability-oriented startups and their contribution to sustainability transformations. In 2023, he received his doctorate summa cum laude from the University of Hohenheim with a cumulative thesis on sustainable entrepreneurship in the bioeconomy. The research results of his dissertation have also been published in various journals. 

Dr. Hinderer completed the international Master's degree in Bioeconomy at the University of Hohenheim. Prior to this, he worked as a project buyer at an international automotive supplier, where he completed his Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University.
